Our Company

Safety

At Sun Construction & Facility Services, Inc. we are proud of our safety program that has been developed and refined over the past 30 years into what it is today. Our company realizes the best way to avoid a serious injury or hazard is through prevention and education. Each new employee participates in our safety orientation program and receives extensive training on current safety and hazard issues. Our full-time safety manager conducts regular safety meetings, jobsite safety inspections, and initiates immediate corrective actions of any noted issues.

Our Health & Safety Manual is available for your review upon request.

In the unlikely event that we should have an accident/injury, we have a formal investigation procedures in place and work closely with our worker’s compensation carrier, Pinnacol Assurance.

Sun Construction & Facility Services, Inc. has received the Platinum Safety Award from Ohio Casualty Group. The Platinum Award is the highest safety and loss prevention award from Ohio Casualty Group.

Some of the elements that help to make our program a continual success include:

Company-Wide Safety Meetings: A mandatory meeting is held quarterly and includes all field personnel, managers, and assistants. Senior managers present subject matter specific to the job and industry-related safety updates.

Weekly Toolbox Meeting: This is the first order of business every Monday morning. Our Superintendents lead this conversation that is based on relevant topics at each jobsite.

Quarterly Supervisors Meetings: These are mandatory meetings held each quarter. The Safety Manager covers a current subject that we feel is important and encourages each member attending to actively participate in the discussion.

30-Hour / 10-Hour OSHA Training: Superintendents, Supervisors, Foremen, and Project Managers are educated in OSHA regulations through attendance in a 30-Hour or 10-Hour Training Program.

Jobsite Safety Audits: Our Safety Manager conducts both random and scheduled jobsite inspections to ensure that all safety policies and regulations are being followed.
